Today (Monday 23rd March) we were very lucky to receive a special visit from Daniel's Oma, Margaret Beech. Margaret is a book artist from the UK and she showed us some special books that she had made, and then taught us to make some of our own books. We had to listen carefully and fold along the lines that Margaret had already folded for us. We each made two different types of books. We can't wait to make more books on our own to share with Margaret!

Disaster Preparedness
On Tuesday 17th March we had Rachel from St John come and visit us to teach us about disasters and what we need to do in a disaster. We looked at different types of disasters - floods, droughts and tsunamis are disasters to do with water like our inquiry unit 'turn on the tap'. We practiced what to do in an earthquake (drop, cover, hold) a fire (get down, get low, get out) or if our clothing was on fire (stop, drop, roll). Rachel showed us her disaster preparedness kit and what items we should have prepared in case of an emergency.

Athletics Day
Today was athletics day for the Juniors at Gore Main School. We had a fantastic day and everyone tried their best showing some great skills! We had four people in our class get in the top 3 for their running final in the 60m. We are very proud of them but also proud of ourselves for doing the best that we could. Here are our star winners and some action shots.
